Berberis thunb. 'Red Rocket'

Berberis thunbergii Red Rocket, Japanse Berberis, is a popular medium-sized shrub that grows strongly upright. Red Rocket blooms with light yellow flowers and has beautiful deep red leaves, which turn scarlet in autumn. This Berberis can be used as a hedge plant, pruning form or solitary. It is also very pollution tolerant and can be used in the coastel region with some protection. Does well in any type of soil except soil that is too salty, likes a moist soil, but tolerates quite a bit of drought.
